[Shenzhen] February 28th, 2025 Biwin, a leading innovator in storage and memory technology, in cooperation with the OC Lab, launches the new OC Lab Gold Edition DW100 RGB DDR5 at DDR5-8000 CL34 & CL36 32GB (2×16 GB) along with a second DDR5-6400 CL28 EXPO profile.

With manual overclocking options, the new OC Lab Gold Edition, part of Biwin’s Black Opal product range, includes dual EXPO profiles. Created for Ryzen 9 9000 Series Granite Ridge processors, it offers easy DDR5 memory overclocking for the best performance and experience. Designed for use with X870 / B850 / B840 motherboards, these new specifications mark a new era of DDR5 performance.

Both DDR5-8000 options, with their ultra-high speeds and optimized timings, are tailored for overclocking and extreme performance scenarios that push the system to the limit. These profiles excel in scenarios where every ounce of speed is needed, such as high-end gaming, benchmarking, or other performance-demanding tasks. The DDR5-6400 option strikes a more balanced approach, prioritizing lower latencies while still delivering a strong performance. With its lower latency, the DDR5-6400 provides smooth gaming, faster application load times, and overall system responsiveness.

Exploring Overclocking Limits at DDR5-8000 CL34 & CL36

The Biwin OC Lab Gold Edition DW100 DDR5-8000 CL34 and CL36 are a result of tight binning and advanced die selection, minimizing the traditional trade-off between frequency and latency that is often seen in high-speed modules. With manual overclocking, the modules can even be overclocked to 8400 MT/s, higher than the advertised frequencies, which are shown with CL34 latency across four major motherboard manufacturers—ASUS, MSI, Gigabyte, and ASRock—ensuring reliable operation under standard operating temperatures. Timing Optimization with EXPO Profile at DDR5-6400 CL28

Both DDR5-8000 kits offer an additional EXPO profile at DDR5-6400 CL28. Lower CAS latency (CL28) at DDR5-6400 delivers superior responsiveness and tighter timings, critical for certain workloads and gaming scenarios. Optimized timings and efficient voltage regulation allow for higher overclocking headroom with increased stability. Achieved through BIOS tuning across CPU and memory settings, the new specifications with dual EXPO profiles offer even lower latencies—8000 MT/s at CL30 and 6400 MT/s at CL26 under optimized conditions.
