  • Can I remove the heatsink/heatspreader?

No, removing the heatsink or heatspreader will void the warranty.

  • What should I do if my memory product is not recognized by my device?

Please first ensure that the product has been installed correctly. If the issue persists, please contact us at Support@biwintech.com for further assistance.

  • What is the safe DRAM voltage?

    [DDR3]

    • The standard DDR3 memory voltage is 1.50 V.
    • Low voltage DDR3 is 1.35 V.
    • Ultra Low Voltage DDR3 is at 1.25 V.
    • DDR3 memory voltage can run at 1.65 V for overclocking.

    [DDR4]

The standard DDR4 memory voltage is 1.20 V.

When overclocking, the DDR4 memory voltage may increase; please refer to the memory's specifications for the recommended values.

In general, voltage above the rated memory specifications can damage the memory modules over time. Please also note that increasing the voltage will result in higher energy consumption and greater heat output and excessive heat will shorten the life of the memory modules.

    [DDR5]

The standard DDR5 memory voltage is 1.10 V.

Overclocked DDR5 memory may operate at higher voltages. Please refer to the memory’s specifications for the recommended values.

  • Why does CPU-Z (Memory tab) show half the frequency speed of my memory kit?

CPU-Z reports the operating frequency of the DRAM. Since DDR (DOUBLE Data Rate) memory transfers data on both the rising and falling edges of the clock signal, the actual clock speed is half of the advertised effective speed. CPU-Z shows the actual clock speed.

For example, if your DDR3 memory is rated at 1600 MHz, CPU-Z will show 800 MHz, as the effective rate is 800 MHz × 2 = 1600 MHz.

  • How do l determine if my RAM is defective?

You can use memory testing tools such as Memtest86 or Windows Memory Diagnostic tool to determine if your RAM is causing any issues. It’s recommended to test your memory independently from the operating system to eliminate the possibility of drivers or other software causing the errors. If the tools show errors, then the memory might have developed a fault, please contact our tech support for further assistance and we will do our best to help you (support@biwintech.com).

  • How do I install my Biwin SSD or memory module?

  • Can I remove the heatsink/heatspreader?

No, removing the heatsink or heatspreader will void the warranty.
